Oakmont Regime Pets

In a townhouse community, it is imperative for homeowners with pets to be courteous and considerate of their neighbors and their community.  The basic considerations are:

1.      Do not let your pets make noise that will disturb your neighbors

2.      Do not let your cats or dogs roam loose

3.      Walk your dogs around the perimeter of the community when they need to “go” – and pickup their poop immediately so it does not become an addition to a neighbor’s shoe!

4.      Don’t use your back yard or front yard as a bathroom for your pet

Our community was established with a bylaw (Article X, Section 3(e) under Prohibited Uses and Nuisances) that states:

“The maintenance, keeping, breeding, boarding and/or raising of animals, livestock, or poultry of any kind, regardless of number, shall be and is hereby prohibited within any condominium unit or upon any common elements, except that this shall not prohibit the keeping of an orderly dog, cat and/or caged birds as domestic pets provided that they are not kept or maintained for commercial purposes or for breeding.  Pets shall not be permitted upon the common areas of the condominium project unless accompanied and unless they are carried or leashed.  Any member who keeps or maintains any pet upon any portion of the condominium project shall be deemed to have indemnified and agreed to hold the Corporation, each of its members and the Declarant free and harmless from any loss, claim or liability of any kind or character whatever arising by reason of keeping or maintaining such pet within the condominium project.  All pets shall be registered and inoculated as required by law.  The Board of Directors shall have the right to order any person whose pet is a nuisance, to remove such pet from the premises.”

Please be considerate of your neighbors.
